This project went beyond the university campus to connect undergraduate student musicians with elders in the Chinese immigrant community of Tucson. Based on a needs assessment with the participants, Anni will design musical experiences to promote cultural exchange and social inclusion. Bringing together senior Asian immigrants in Tucson to joyously celebrate their cultural heritage and combat isolation. Interactive music teachings foster vibrant social connections and intergenerational engagement to address loneliness and social isolation among elderly Chinese immigrants through music.
